One Hundred Fortieth Pennsylvania Infantry Regiment

"The One Hundred and Fortieth Regiment of Pennsylvania (140th), of which the honorable record extends throughout the campaigns of the Army of the Potomac from 1862 to 1865, contained five companies raised in Washington County (C, D, E, G, K). The several companies rendezvoused at Camp Curtin, where, on the 21st and 22nd of August and the 4th of September, 1862, they were mustered into the United States service for three years."
