In the name of God Amen the Thirty first day of December One Thousand seven hundred and ninety four, I Robert Douglas of Washington County and State of Pennsylvania. Being very weak and frail in body but of sound mind and memory thanks be given unto god therefore calling unto mind the Mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men ---- to die do make and ordain this my Last Will & Testament. That is to say Principaly and first of all I give and recommend my Soul into the hands of god that give it and my body I recommend to the earth to be buried in Christian like and decent manner at the Discreation of my Executors --- Doubting but at the general Resurection, I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of god and as --- such worldly estate. Wherein it hath pleased god to bless me with in this life I give devise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form --- It is my will and I do order that in the first place all my just debts and funeral charges be paid and satisfy.
Item I give & bequith unto my well beloved wife Issabella a note of eight pounds on the estate of John Orr (desc?), also the 1/2 of what ever money is coming to --- out of my father Thomas Douglas's estate, also her choice of one of my horsis, also the choice of two of my cow cattle and her choice of six sheep, also her choice of a bead beadstead & clothing, also 3 puter dishes and all my tea weare. Likewise her saddle wheel clothing etc ---.
Item I give and bequest my 3 bibles to my 3 oldest sons viz Thomas, William and John.
Item It is my will and I do order my Mention Plantation whereon I now live, lying and being in Hanover Township and County of Washington -- to be sold by my Executors as soon as convenient after my dessease, to the beast advantage, Likewise, it is my will that the remainder of my personal estate books and clothing be sold as ----. & the whole of the (Written above line "money, except 50 pounds to be given to my wife Isabella") arising from my estate both real and personal to be justly and eaqualy divided, share and share amongs'd my 6 sons viz - Thomas, William, John, Robert, James and Andrew --.
Item I do nominate constitute and appoint my well beloved wife Issabela & my brother in law John Orr my lawful Executors of this my Last Will & Testament and I do hereby utterly disalow tweek & disanull all & every other former Testament, Will, Leguisies and Executors by me in anywise before this time Willed and bequeath Satisfying and confirming this and no other to be my Last Will & Testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year above written.
