The first record of George and Michael is in 1773, when they
were taxed in Lebanon Township, now Lebanon County, Pennsylvania.  
They were both under 30, George was married in 1771, Michael in
1772. They were likely related to John and George Ihli, who 
landed at Philadelphia in 1754.

By 1779 George was in Pine Grove Township, now Schuylkill 
County, by 1800 in Shamokin Township, Northumberland County. He 
came to Canton (now South Franklin Township in 1807. In 1822 he 
went to East Finley Township, where he died in 1830, father of 
eleven children. He was a founder of the Fairmont U M Church.

Michael came to Buffalo Township in 1790 and died there in 
1819, father of 14 children. Eight of the children of George and 
Michael went to Knox County, Ohio, two to other counties in Ohio.
